alta lakes observatoryThe Alta Lakes Observatory is a rustic getaway lodge located on the back side of the Telluride Ski area underneath Palmyra and Silver peak in the San Juan Mountains of Southwestern Colorado. Built in the mid-70′s, join us to see how Telluride used to be. Comfortably sleeping up to 12 people and great access to amazing back country, come stay the night or the week.

In the winter the cabin can be accessed by skiing from the Telluride ski area through the Bald Mountain backcountry gate. Guests may also hike or snowmobile 4 miles from highway 145 at Alta Lakes road. Or cross country ski from the top of chair Ten.
